How Visual Comfort orders reach you

After you place your order, our sales team confirms it with you by email. We prepare the shipment, and once it's handed to DHL, you receive a tracking link. DHL delivers to your address in Italy and across Europe in 7–14 days.

Every Visual Comfort fixture we ship is rewired for European 220–240V and ready to install: no adapters, transformers or electrical changes are needed.

Delivery time starts from order confirmation. Chain or drop adjustments add at least 2 weeks to production.

Do I pay customs or import duties?

EU countries and Monaco: no. The price on the site includes VAT, and there are no customs formalities for you. You pay the site price plus shipping, and nothing on delivery.

Switzerland, Norway and other non-EU European countries: yes, on delivery (DAP). These are Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Andorra, Vatican City, Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Kosovo. At checkout you pay the shipping cost only. When the parcel reaches your country, DHL clears customs and sends you a link by SMS or email to pay local VAT (Switzerland 8.1%, Norway 25%), any import duty and its handling fee. The exact amount is set by your customs authority, so we cannot calculate it in advance.

Islands and special territories. For the Canary Islands, Ceuta, Melilla, Portuguese islands (postcodes starting with 9) and Cyprus, local import taxes may be collected on delivery. Please contact us before ordering and we will confirm the terms for your address.

VAT on Visual Comfort orders

Private buyer in the EU The displayed price includes VAT. You pay the site price plus shipping, nothing else.
Business buyer in another EU country with a valid EU VAT number The order is invoiced without Italian VAT under the EU reverse-charge rule. Send your VAT number to our sales team by email or WhatsApp before checkout, or ask for a formal quotation. We validate the number in VIES, issue the invoice with reverse charge, and you account for VAT in your own country. Businesses based in Italy are invoiced with Italian VAT.
Buyer in Switzerland, Norway or another non-EU country The displayed price applies. Local VAT, any import duty and the DHL fee are paid on delivery, as described above.

Customization and delivery

Visual Comfort allows chain and drop length adjustments on most pendants and chandeliers. This is confirmed on the SKU at order time and adds at least 2 weeks to production.

Chain and drop adjustments do not change the shipping cost.

What to do on delivery day

Visual Comfort fixtures are shipped in protective packaging designed for international transport. Even so, the most important step is checking the shipment on arrival.

Photograph the outer box from all sides before opening, including the shipping label.
If the box shows visible damage, open it in the presence of the DHL driver.
Check the fixture for dents, cracked glass, scratched finishes and missing parts.
If you find damage, do not sign the delivery note as accepted in good condition: sign it with a reservation and describe the problem on the note.
Do not install the fixture until you are sure it is intact.
Report any damage to VC Gallery with photos within 48 hours of delivery.

Why this matters. DHL accepts transport damage claims only when they are reported within 48 hours of delivery. After that, the damage can no longer be covered by the carrier's insurance. Details are in our claims policy.

Returns and claims

Returns (change of mind) Private customers in the EU can return Visual Comfort fixtures within 14 days of delivery, without giving a reason. There is no fee; you pay the return shipping. Opening the box to inspect the fixture is fine. If it has been installed or parts are missing, the loss in value is deducted from the refund. Pieces made to your specifications or personalised for you cannot be returned on change of mind. You can also exchange it for another product from our catalogue: no fee, you pay only the return of the original, the new product is delivered free and any price difference is settled at the exchange. Business orders with a VAT number: 15% restocking fee plus return shipping.
Factory defect A wiring fault, a non-working switch, a finish defect or a similar production issue. Send us photos and a description. Depending on the case, we authorize a repair by a certified local electrician and reimburse the invoice, or we replace the component or the whole fixture. Return shipping is free. We cover a factory defect whenever it appears, with no deadline.
Transport damage Dents, broken glass or scratched finishes found on delivery. Photograph and report within 48 hours. We open the claim and arrange the replacement. Return shipping is free.
Wrong item If you received a different SKU, finish or size from your order, we arrange a free exchange.

Yes, mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands follow the EU rate (free from €2,500) with nothing to pay on delivery. For the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla local import taxes may apply: please contact us before ordering.

Do you ship Visual Comfort to Switzerland, and who pays customs?

Yes. Shipping to Switzerland follows the same rates up to €2,500; above €2,500 it is 5% of the order value, and there is no free shipping. Swiss VAT (8.1%), any import duty and the DHL handling fee are not included: DHL collects them from you on delivery.

Do you ship Visual Comfort to Norway?

Yes, on the same terms as Switzerland: EU rates up to €2,500, 5% of the order value above that, never free. Norwegian VAT (25%), any import duty and the DHL fee are paid on delivery.

Will I pay anything extra on delivery?

Not in Italy, other EU countries or Monaco: the site price plus shipping is all you pay. In Switzerland, Norway and other non-EU European countries, local VAT, any import duty and the DHL fee are collected on delivery. Is shipping free on orders over €2,500?

Yes for EU countries and Monaco, when the Visual Comfort part of the order reaches €2,500. The threshold is counted per brand: products from other brands, such as Quintiesse, are calculated separately. Outside the EU shipping is never free.
